Class: Materials & Assembly (48-215)

Instructor: Professor Gerard Damiani

Sequence of Assembly:

Exploded and assembled axonometric studies of foundation, skeletal, slab, and enclosure systems in a two-story steel frame wall section of Type II-B construction.

Means of Egress:

Detailed plan drawings of Oscar Niemeyer's Brazilian Pavilion. A type 1B noncombustible, fire resistive building, it was made for temporary use, the means of egress and code compliance to Fire-Resistive Rating Requirements was often overlooked.

Wood Framing:

Detailed plan and axonometric drawings studying the wood framing (floor, roof, wall, and corner framing techniques) of Type V-B construction of the Casa el Vigilante by RUIZSOLAR Arquitectos.

Code Analysis and Egress:

Using my own studio project, a study of code review and egress system within the design of my building in addition to an axonometric materials study of a wall section of said project. This studio project required a design of a robust incubator / stimulator / urban center sited in East Liberty, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
